Tell Me Your Story is a voice memoir app for older parents and grandparents. They answer one question at a time out loud, and the app helps turn the stories into a digital book. Not sure which app fits? Compare memoir and storytelling apps for seniors.

The conversation

You know the stories they tell at every birthday. There are more.

Every family has its well-worn versions. The wedding, the first flat, the car that broke down on the way to the coast. Ask one more question and something new comes out: a best friend from school, a job they nearly took, what they hoped for at twenty.

Most of us mean to have that conversation and never find the afternoon. So we made it smaller. One question on the screen, answered out loud from their own armchair, whenever they feel like talking.

Then you get to listen. Sometimes it's a side of them you've never met. Sometimes it's just a very good story about a bicycle.

    They pick a prompt, press record and start talking. Their iPhone turns the speech into text. Anyone who prefers typing can write instead.

    A follow-up that goes deeper

    Photos, and words that read well

    They can add up to four photos to a story. AI tidies the spoken words into readable text, and they can switch back to their own words at any time.

She never measured anything. When I asked how much flour, she said, "Enough." I still cook that way, and it drives your father mad.

Where the stories live

Your stories are saved on your device and in iCloud. AI and book creation send selected text and photos to our service. Our service also stores book manuscripts and the original story text so you can edit your book.

The app asks before it uses AI help, and you can turn it off later in Settings.

Will my dad actually use it?

There's one question on the screen and one big button to record. He doesn't need to type anything. If he likes writing better, he can type instead.

What kind of book is it?

A digital book in PDF format. You can read it on a phone, tablet or computer, download it and share it with the family.

What does the AI do?

It suggests follow-up questions, tidies spoken words into readable text and helps arrange the stories into chapters with a foreword. You can edit the text and regenerate AI-written sections as often as you need.

What happens when I join the waitlist?

We save your email address and write when the app is ready to download. There's nothing to pay, and you can unsubscribe whenever you like.

Can other relatives add their stories?

Yes. Invite family members from the app and they can record their own memories. In the book, their stories carry their name.

Which languages does it speak?

English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish. The book is written in the language you choose for it.
